The Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Coalition (PABC) was established in 1992 to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding as the cultural norm for infant feeding in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Our members come from many backgrounds and contribute time, energy, and expertise to activities that support breastfeeding families.

Through our partnership with ZipMilk, an online directory for finding breastfeeding resources by zip code, we hope to promote greater access and connectivity to breastfeeding resources.

Breastfeeding must be welcomed in restaurants, businesses, workplaces, and wherever a breastfeeding parent would like to feed their child. PABC is actively promoting the Breastfeeding Welcome Here Project. Click here to learn more.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Coalition commissioned an in-depth Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Leadership Assessment Report in 2023. This report provides us with valuable insights and recommendations for developing and advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Leadership within the Coalition. Changing Spaces LLC, the consultant engaged to handle this work, utilized the strategic goal, “Re-establish committee structure, communications, and develop branding for the Coalition to ensure that it is a sustainable and effective organization aligned to meet its mission” to focus its inquiry and analysis. A key action item of our DEI efforts is “to create and sustain a culture of equity”, as outlined directly in our strategic plan. We are grateful for everyone who took the time to complete the survey and share their perceptions and thoughts as part of this project.
